Case study methodology underpins a realist evaluation process. A realist review of the literature is integral to the process evaluation. Non-participant observation of individuals with dementia in their communities is also essential, alongside semi-structured interviews to explore the supports and obstacles experienced within Designated Facilities for Care (DFCs).
